Chairman PCP telephones scientist Dr Khalil Christi s family

Posted about 1 hour ago | ISLAMABAD :  Press Council of Pakistan Chairman Raja Shafqat Abbasi on Tuesday telephoned to scientist Dr Khalil Christi s family and expresses his warm wishes for his released on bail by Supreme Court of India, and said that all the arrangements from the government of Pakistan for his return are completed and landing on his homeland is a great victory of the PCP struggle. Chairman further said that the scientist has beard many difficulties during his imprisonment in India And after his long frantic and nasty prison  I welcome him in Pakistan now .

Police apprehend 15 suspects in raids

Posted about 1 hour ago | KARACHI :   Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 15 suspects in different raids and recovered weapons from their possession. As per details, three groups involved in robberies were apprehended by Police of East, West, South, Malir and Central districts during the last 24 hours while 10 pistols were also recovered from them.

Awareness Walk, seminar, camp held

The walk was part of activities planned to observe World Hypertension Day falling on May 17. SBCA suspends officer involved in illegal construction

Karachi,  Director General Sindh Building Control Authority Manzoor Qadir Tuesday suspended an officer over his alleged involvement in illegal construction in Jamshed Quarters and sought report in 15 days. Hasan fears more Silala like incidents if NATO supply routes restored

Posted about 1 hour ago | Karachi :  Restoring the NATO supply to Afghanistan through Pakistan would lead to repetition of incidents similar to that of the Silala tragedy, said Jamaat-e Islami (JI) Pakistan Chief Syed Munawar Hasan here Monday. Addressing a gathering of women near Masjid Baitul Mukarram, Gulshan-e Iqbal, Karachi, he said the rulers through tactful maneuvers have divided the 180 million people of the country. Poverty is being enhanced with every passing day and get rid of it it was unavoidable to get rid of the rulers.

South Range police arrest 13 suspects

Karachi, South Range police of the city claimed to have apprehended 13 suspects while recovering weapons, drug, liquor and looted valuables from their possession. As per a release issued here on Monday, eight police stations of the range arrested the suspects in a crackdown on criminal elements. Napier police arrested two accused, Irfan and Arshad, and recovered a pistol, eight bullets along with snatched valuables from them.

Three men gunned down, another body found in Karachi

Karachi, Three men were shot dead while a body in gunny bag was found in different areas of the metropolis late last night and in the wee hours of Sunday, Chhipa sources said. They said that Faisal s/o Qamar, in his forties and an unknown man, age around 35, died when unknown persons opened fire on them in Landhi, 89 area late last night. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal-formalities.
