No. PAB/:Legis:V(19)/2004, dated 30-8-2004.–The Balochistan Agricultural ,Produce Markets (Amendment) Bill, 2004 having been passed by the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan on 24th August, 2004 and assented to by the Governor of Balochistan, is hereby published as an Act of the Provincial Assembly.
Preamble.–Whereas, it is expedient further to amend the Balochistan Agriculture Produce Markets Act, 1991, in the manner hereinafter appearing:
1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Balochistan Agriculture Produce Markets (Amendment) Act, 2004.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 2 of Act I of 1991
In the Balochistan Agriculture Produce Markets Act, 1991, hereinafter referred to as the said Act, in section 2; in clause (g), for the word “Deputy Commissioner” appearing twice the words “Director of Agriculture (Economics and Marketing)” shall be substituted twice.
3. Amendment of section 3 of Act I of 1991
In the said Act, in section 3, for the word “Deputy Commissioner” the words “Director of Agriculture (Economics and Marketing)” shall be substituted.
4. Amendment of section 8 of Act I of 1991
In the said Act, in section 8,
(i) in subsection (3) for the words “Deputy Commissioner” the words “Executive District Officer (Revenue)” and in case there is no “Executive District Officer (Revenue)” the “Deputy Director of Agriculture (Economics and Marketing)” shall be substituted.
(ii) in subsection (4) for the words “Deputy Commissioner” the words “Executive District Officer (Revenue)” and in case there is no “Executive District Officer (Revenue)” the “Deputy Director of Agriculture (Economics and Marketing)” shall be substituted.
5. Amendment of section 12 of Act I of 1991
In the said Act, in section 12, the full stop appearing at the end of proviso shall be, deleted and thereafter the words and full stop and “Vice-Chairman” shall
6. Amendment of section 22 of Act I of 1991
In the said Act, in subsection (1) of section 22, far the words “Deputy Commissioner” the words “Director of Agriculture (Economics and Marketing)” shall be inserted.
7. Amendment of section 24 of Act I of 1991
In the said Act, in subsection (2) of section 24, for the words “District Magistrate” the words “Session’s Judge” shall be substituted.
